Homework
Oct. 13, 2009 - because of the shortened week Monday and Tuesday Spelling
homework will be combined for Tuesday's homework.
Starting on Monday, September 14th the children will be asked to read
15 minutes a night and record the books in their Reading Logs. Reading Logs
will continue to be a weekly assignment that will be due on Mondays.
On September 14, Math Home Links will begin and will continue
Monday-Thursday for the remainder of the year. Please carefully check over
your child's math homework and sign it at the top. This lets me know that you
have reviewed and discussed the concept. Please let me know if your child
experienced difficulty completing the assignment, so that I can further review
the skill with your child. Parents, please be sure to read the explanation
provided for you at the top of the Home Link page. This will help assist your
child with the assignment.
Spelling will begin the first week of October. At that time, your child
will come home with a blue composition book and inside the front cover is a
list of the weekly assignments required. The work is to be neatly done in
pencil. Also, please remind your child to date the page on the top first
dotted line and to use both sides of the paper.
Starting in October, at the beginning of each week, your child will bring
home a Home School Connection sheet that correlates with Signatures story
for that week. On the sheet will be a list of the key words to accompany the
story and various activities that they can enjoy to enhance the enjoyment of
the story. The signed sheet is due back on Friday of each week. This assignment
is optional, but please know that this is a great way to foster your child's
love for reading.
