The Frenchtown Board of Education is a seven member body, elected by the Frenchtown community, that establishes policies, approves personnel, adopts budgets, approves curriculum, awards bids and makes final decisions on educational issues.&nbsp; Meetings are open to the public except when matters of confidentially are discussed, in conformance with the NJ Open Public Meetings Act.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p>&nbsp;</o:p>
The board works under a committee system, with a Curriculum Committee and a Business Committee.&nbsp; Each committee is comprised of three board members and meets monthly to conduct board business.&nbsp; These meetings are not open to the public, but minutes of these meetings are shared with the full board at the public meeting.&nbsp; The board president serves to enable communication between the committees and can fill in on a committee in the event of another member&#8217;s absence.&nbsp; <o:p></o:p>
