Free Digital Libraries
E-readers around the world
The International Children's Digital Library project offers access
to more than 4,000 children's books in 54 languages. The website
was developed with a design team that included children of various
ages, so the book browsing interface is really fun and easy to
use. Look around and tell me about the interesting things you
find!

TumbleBooks
A wonderful collection of picture e-books. The East Brunswick
Public Library is offering free access to this collection via
their website--you don't even need a library card! These e-books
keep the feel of traditional picture books, and developing readers
benefit from the words being highlighted as they are read. Titles
include many familiar favorites, too.

TumbleReadables
A sister to TumbleBooks, TumbleReadables is a unique eBook
collection which offers readers a selection of online chapter
books, searchable by age groups. Titles range from early readers
to adult classics and feature adjustable text and complete audio
narration. Sentences are highlighted as they are being
read, which can be a big help to developing readers. This is a
wonderful way to add to your home library without needing any
extra shelves! Try out the bookmark feature, or change the color
scheme or type size. Do you like reading books this way or do you
prefer paper books?
TumbleReadables are available from the kids' area of the East
Brunswick Public Library website.
