Guidelines for Sight Word Homework Each week, our class will learn to spell sight words by writing sight words three times each forhomework. Here are some guidelines to help your child successfully complete the homework: All homework should be written in PENCIL. The children will write the word in school. Each word should be written three more times each. Stress proper handwriting and letter structure. A letter-forming guide will be sent home in the beginning of the year. Name and date should be on the first full line of the paper. Sight words will be given in school. The students write the words in their word journal. Homework should also be done in the word journal. We expect each child to practice recognizing these sight words each night. *** Words are always due the day after they are assigned.*** This task might seem difficult for your child at first, but with practice at home and school, both you and your child will soon see improvement.Thank you for your help!
Please practice these sight words with your child. Learning sight words is an important part of learning to read! Making flash cards is a fun way to learn the words. Thank you!
