MONDAY CLASSWORK:
1. Take new words out of your folder. Read each word and discuss unfamiliar words with your
group. Think about what rule or rules you are learning about this week.
2. Write the sort the categories and  bold example word in your Word Study Notebook.
3. Cut out words.
4. Read and sort your words.

MONDAY HOMEWORK:
1. Read and sort your words.

TUESDAY CLASSWORK (INDIVIDUAL PRACTICE SORT):

1. Choose one word. Read the word and write it in the appropriate category. BE CAREFUL to spell
the word correctly.
2. Check your practice chart with the answer key in your folder.

TUESDAY HOMEWORK:
1. Read and sort your words.


WEDNESDAY CLASSWORK (PARTNER PRACTICE SORT):
1. Write in the sort categories on the top of your chart.
2. One partner choose a word. Read the word aloud and say a sentence with the word in it.
3. The other partner wries the word in the appropriate category.
4. After 7 minutes switch with your partner.
5. Check your practice chart with the answer key in your folder.
CLASSWORK CHALLENGE:
Look up sort words in the dictionary.
Write sentences for your sort words.
Find words that follow the skill that you are working on in your independent reading book.
