Homework

ILA:  Each Monday students receive a new WORD STUDY list of words and a new 
WORD STUDY mat. They are responsible for completing the homework assiggnment 
using these words each night. On Friday, a test on the words and definitions 
will be given.

      Each Wednesday students are given a new READING LOG sheet. This is due 
the following Wednesday. Students are to read at least 20 minutes each 
night. This log should be signed before the student hands it in. On the back 
of the log sheet is a READING RESPONSE BOX. The student is to choose a 
prompt from one of the 20 "Reader's Response to Literature" (a separate 
sheet in their "bag of books" that should go home with them each day) as 
their response. Students need to wirte the title and author of the book they 
are responding to and indicate the prompt they have chosen to address. They 
may only choose a response once.

      Each Monday morning during ILA the students are given an Independent 
Reading Response that should be worked on during the week in class. This 
assignment is due the FRIDAY OF THE WEEK IT IS ASSIGNED. The studnets are 
given time on Monday to copy the promt from the Promethean Board. It is 
copied into their READING RESPONSE MARBLE NOTEBOOK.

      Occasionlly, a writing assignment will be given. It will be due the 
following day.

PLEASE NOTE THAT HOMEWORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED NEATLY AND HANDED IN THE DAY 
AFTER IT IS ASSIGNED.
