The East Brunswick Soccer Club is planning to create a TOPSoccer program in
the township as early as this spring. TOP stands for "the outreach program"
and is US Youth Soccer's community-based training and team placement program
for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to bring the
opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a
mental
or physical disability.
EBSC plans to send a couple of representatives to the March 6 state TOPSoccer
certification program and is seeing parent volunteers to attend certification
and to partner with the club in leading the program. We will also be reaching
out to East Brunswick High School to identify students who would like to
become "Soccer Buddies" as part of their community service work.
To find out how you can get involved or for more information, contact EBSC
president Ron Brandsdorfer at ebsoccer1@gmail.com.
