=====================================================================================================================================

Old Bridge Soccer League is looking for volunteer Buddies for our fall soccer season beginning on September 6, 2008 through to November 8, 2008 to help children with disabilities learn to play soccer.

We have a program called “Just4kixs” its soccer for children with disabilities such as, autism, aspergers, down syndrome, 22q deletion syndrome, hearing impaired or developmentally delayed children between the ages 4 through 12.

We are looking for local teens to volunteer their time to help out and be part of this great program. The teen would be paired up with a child for the 10week season as their buddy. We are looking for responsible and dedicated teens that are interested in helping out in their community and making a difference in another child’s life.

We get together on Saturdays for 1 hour, between the hours of 10am and 11:30am. The actual time will be announced closer to September. We will be playing at the Ticetown Fields in Old Bridge every Saturday beginning September 6, 2008.

If you volunteer your time for this program, you will receive a letter of community service and a thank you for your support, as well as walking away with an incredible experience of working alongside of some very special kids. If you do the entire season it works out to be 10 hours of community service and a lifetime of memories.

Teens must be at least 13 years or older to be in this program. They also must be committed to being a buddy. We don’t want somebody changing his or her mind halfway through the season and have a child without a buddy.

If this sounds like something you want to do, please contact Carol Cavana

@732-583-3276 or e-mail @ Gunther702@aol.com

We look forward to hearing from you.

Old Bridge Soccer League

A special soccer team for children with disabilities

Register for the fall 2008 season, of Just4kixs inclusive soccer program for children with disabilities.  Children from ages 4 to 12 with a disability are invited to join the OBSL program called “Just4kicks”.  We are continuing our program this fall with a team of children and buddies to help your child learn to play, share, grow, interact, improve their gross motor skills, follow one step commands, encourage speech, and help boost their self-esteem, while playing a fun sport in a non-judgmental environment.

If you have a child or children with a disability, such as Autism, aspergers, Down syndrome, ADHD, hearing impaired, speech delay or any other developmental delay, we invite you to join our special program. Guaranteed you’ll have a ball.

Each child will have a buddy to shadow them during structured play as well as a lot of parent involvement to help us learn about your child and their special needs.  The team will only play on Saturdays in the fall.  There will not be an actual game or opposing team to play against, but rather one team learning the sport together through basic drills and with one-on-one attention. Your child will receive soccer shorts, shirt, & socks, and a trophy at the end of the season.

The cost for the fall season is:

$40.00 for one child.

$60.00 for two children

$80.00 for three or more children

No registration fee.  No work bond fee, but one parent will be required to work for one hour at the field with assisting the coaches or other small jobs.

The Fall Season begins on September 6, 2008, (10-week season) through until November 8, 2008.

*Parents must purchase soccer shoes, shin guards, and a soccer ball at any sporting goods store or Wal-Mart.

*The child does not have to be a resident in Old Bridge Township.

*All games will be played on Ticetown Fields on Ticetown Road in Old Bridge.
