REGISTER NOW!! ... PreK - 8th grade ... SUMMER OFFICE HOURS 9AM-1PM
Dear Parents, In an effort to be transparent regarding the future of Good Shepherd School, I want to share with you the outcome of a meeting that was held on Monday, January 4, 2010. I had the opportunity to meet with all five regional pastors, as well as, Mr. Nick Regina, Executive Director of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Camden. The purpose of this meeting was to validate the future of Good Shepherd School. Mr. Regina opened the meeting with a presentation of the many aspects that the diocese has examined regarding Good Shepherd School. The presentation highlighted our increased enrollment in the PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classes, our excellent curriculum, as well as, our outstanding facility. Other items mentioned were the success rate of our alumni, as well as, a report on last year's standardized test scores, which were the HIGHEST in the diocese. We are confident that our enrollment will steadily grow over the next five years. We see that happening in our lower grades. We are very happy with the outcome of this meeting and look to move forward with the development of our Board of Limited Jurisdiction, with the confirmed appointment of Rev. Edward Friel as the Pastoral Representative for the Board. We will continue to develop our state of the art curiculum as well as additional programs such as opening the teacher grade book to parents through the internet, and our Advancement program. We were also informed that the diocese is not moving toward cost based tuition in the foreseable future. The tuition for the 2010-2011 school year will only increase by $100 to $200, the second child will remain the same as this year and the third child's tuition will actually decrease. I urge you to register for next year, particularly PreK through grade 1 as these classes are reaching their limits. The diocese will be sending us a letter concerning our future which I will forward to you. I am most grateful to them for their support and enthusiasm regarding the future of Good Shepherd School. I am happy to report that all five of the pastors have committed their support to our schools mission. Wishing you a holy and happy new year, Donald W. Garecht, Principal

OUR MISSION
Good Shepherd Regional Catholic School provides our students with an exceptional educational program within a faith-centered environment. Our families and faculty are committed to the education of the total child so that our students are prepared to excel in high school and beyond. We instill a strong desire for learning and we challenge our students to develop self-discipline, integrity, and a commitment to community service. At Good Shepherd Regional Catholic School we strive to give our young students the foundation to live morally in our complex world. The educational experience at GSS is an invaluable instrument in proclaiming the Good News from one generation to the next. We challenge our students to develop spiritually, academically, and emotionally and to support the Catholic faith.
THEY WILL LEARN. Our GSS Students have scored among the highest in the standardized IOWA scores in the Diocese of Camden. An extraordinary number of our alumni have graduated at or near the top of their High School classes. We are pleased to report the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary Schools approved the Merger Report and reaffirmed the accreditation of Good Shepherd Catholic School, grades PK3-8 and is therefore granted accreditation for the period 12/01/08 - 05/30/11. THEY WILL SERVE. "Alex's Lemonade Stand" - During Catholic Schools Week our service project was dedicated to this foundation for children's cancer. $1000 was raised by selling lemonade from our stand all week long! "Operation Rice Bowl" - A Lenten Tradition. The children of Good Shepherd raised over $500!!! Our 8th graders have coordinated several projects that will allow ALL students at Good Shepherd to perform service for our community. Our "Service Dress Down Day" will help provide money for fruit, lunchmeat and bread for sandwiches the middle school will make and deliver to the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden. Towels will be collected for the homeless shelter, Life Center of Eastern Delaware County in PA. Another project will be to make cards and provide entertainment for our elderly at the Collingswood Manor. Finally, our students will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items for the St. John's Parish Pantry. Our students most recent service project will help support "Alex's Lemonade." GSS will be selling lemonade all week during lunches, at our OPEN HOUSE, and at Catholic Schools Week functions. "Alex's Lemonade," a foundation for childhood cancer, is a wonderful cause our students can help support. *** March is CHANGE A CHILD'S WORLD MONTH*** Our students are involved in this service project to help abused children. Throughout the month of March, our students will be collecting spare change to benefit the Philadelphia Children's Alliance, a non-profit organization that works to end child abuse and serve abused children. THEY WILL LEAD AND SUCCEED. We insure that our young students have the foundation to live morally in our complex modern world. Our families and faculty are committed to preparing our children to fill a critical role in the future of our communities, our country, and our world. Choose Good Shepherd Regional Catholic School and exercise your right to choose the best school for your children and know that when they are here, they are family. JESUS makes a difference at GSS. God Bless you and your family. Contact Diane Gallagher, Advancement Director, 869-4592 or goodshepherdgallagher@verizon.net for information or to tour our school.
