Directions: In Chapter 9, you learned that tobacco was an important crop for
Virginia’s economy. For homework, pretend that you have found a new crop
that will be profitable. Write a job ad that will try to entice people to
come work for their new plantation. Your ad may want to start with the
words HELP WANTED. Most job ads are usually only 3-4 sentences long, and
describe the tasks of the job, the kind of people they are looking for, and
how much they are going to pay.
