Dear Parents,
The homework for the week of November 9-13 has been posted. You may print out a copy for the entire week if you like.
This week we are finishing our first writing unit, Personal Narrative. Students will be working on typing, revising and editing their work in school. If your child does bring the work home, please, please let them complete the work. I often hesitate letting students bring work home that will be assessed and will ultimately help me to decide what skills and strategies need to be reviewed and worked on in our next writing unit. If you or a tutor does the work, in the end your child will not get what he/she really needs out of instruction.
At this point in the year, your son/daughter should have finished reading six to eight books. The book titles should be recorded in their reading notebooks. I am sending out a new scholastic book club form if you would like to take advantage of ordering books at the scholastic prices, which are much lower than the book stores these days. All orders must be in by Monday November 16th.
