This week in Social Studies we will enjoy Winter Fun activities as we look forward to our vacation.  Upon our return to school in January, we will begin our study of Unit Five, ancient Egypt.

House Two students will enjoy a holiday party on Tuesday, December 22 during Periods 1, 2, and 3.  Students will enjoy breakfast in the cafeteria and a movie to follow on the big screen in the auditorium.  We are collecting $2.00 per student to purchase bagels and toppings for breakfast.  The money is due by Thursday, December 17 and can be turned in at Social Studies.  Students should bring a drink for themselves on the day of the party; please, no glass bottles.  

The Mesopotamia Test is scheduled for Friday, December 18.   The test will be returned in class on Monday, December 21 and due back signed for a  homework grade.  Although written homework is not regularly assigned, students are expected to study each night. Remember to encourage your child to experiment with various study strategies such as vocabulary flash cards, practice tests, rewriting class notes and orally reviewing the information with a parent or study buddy. These are only ideas - students are encouraged to find a study strategy that works for them!
