Love, Happiness, Hope

Found Art is creating an artwork and leaving it  somewhere for someone to find. It is a great way to spread joy and goodwill in your community and  connect with others. This is occurring all over the world and its mission is to make the world a better place right now by empowering people across the globe to share on a personal level. Art has the power to communicate. All people are creative and the expression of their creativity opens the heart of both the creator and the receiver. Goodwill is contagious.

Please email us at JDATA@ebnet.org with your thoughts about found art, and how you felt when you found it.

Thank you for taking interst in this project. With out you our work would not be found!

Responses from our Finders:

Dear Artists of Found Art,
Imagine my happy surprise when I "found" a beautiful piece of art after school in a dictionary I was returning to the shelf.  I was thrilled to be a recipient for the second year in a row.  My piece of art was #69 with a beautiful ballerina on it.  I love it, and I definitely agree with the saying about "practice makes perfect".  I am not sure I will ever succeed in executing that amzing leap on the stage, but I know there are many other goals I hope to achieve in my life.  Thank you for reminding me.
Mrs. Davidson

Thank you so much for such a lovely surprise!  I adore the quote --"There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved.  It is God's finger on man's shoulder."  It really brightened my day, and I will keep and treasure it.
What a wonderful project ---and talented artist! Many thanks.

Dear Mrs. Data and Art Students,
Art piece #5 was left on my office door!  How cool!   It says "True love never dies.  It only gets stronger with time."  and I couldn't agree more.  The colors and shapes make me smile and the small clock next to the word "time" is very clever.  Thanks for brightening my day!  Sincerely, Mrs. Langdon (6th grade Theatre Arts teacher)

Dear Mrs. Data I found art project #3 and now I just think it's

I found # 114 in my binder!!! It somehow (conviently) showed up one day in there!  I have my suspicions on who it is... but I think it's really nice & sparkly.  I really like the theme of found art and I this piece of art reflects it well.  What with the creativity, theme of space and moral that the sky IS NOT the limit I think it is truly a masterpiece!

Hello Mrs. Data & Artists:
I found my piece of "found art" #26 in room 1604 and think it is BEAUTIFUL!!  At first, I thought someone forgot their project in class, but was very excited to see it was a found piece of art.  I can tell the artist spent a lot of time on this project because it is very colorful and has wonderful detail.  Thank you for letting me be part of this experience.  I love it!!
Thank you again,
Mrs. Hoffmann

Dear Mrs. Data,
I came into my class today and found a beautiful piece of
artwork on my desk.  The poem is lovely and I wanted to share it
with others, so I have left it for another to find.  I think
that this is a great project, and would like to say thank you to
the artist who created # 20, and to all who are creating art for
others.
Sincerely,
Miss McLarty

Dear Mrs. Data and students,
You made my day!   It was so wonderful to walk into my room and find a beautful piece of "found art" on my desk.  The message of the art is so true, "Smiles are contagious pass one on today".  I have posted this art in my room and I hope that it will make my students smile each day too.  Thank you for creating such a wonderful project with such strong and beautiful messages.  I have enjoyed seeing them pop up around the school.     :)   :)   :)
Thank you,
Dr. Zimbicki

Hey!
Well, it just so happened that I found a piece of artwork. I got number 83. I also read why this is being done and completely agree. I think people do express themselves very much so through art, and I really like the whole idea of "Found Art". Great work to all the artist!!

Sincerely,

Dear Mrs. Data and all Art Classes,
I found art piece #22 in Room 108.  I was so excited to be a recipient.  I too believe that sharing the ideas of love, hearts, and beauty will bring more much- needed harmony to this world.  It is obvious that this particular artist spent a lot of time completing the piece and cared very much about both its visual appeal and its beautiful message.  I feel honored.

Thank you, Mrs. Nancy Davidson

I found it, I found it.  How exciting to find a smiley face in my teacher bag and during the class that is my hardest of the day.  It did make me smile and think about the book, Warm Fuzzy's and Cold Prickles.  I have to find the book and share the story with you; it goes along perfectly with what you are doing.
Thank you and your student for bringing a smile to my face.
Have a great weekend.

What a nice surprise... I found a beautiful cut out of people holding hands with the quote "True sincere optimistic love takes lifetimes". I shared it with my students. Please tell your wonderful artists what a bright spot they made in our rainy dreary day!

Finding your art made me happy. Keep doing stuff like Love, Happiness, and Hope are a part of what I am doing and so are you.

I was fortunate enough to find an absolutely beautiful collage of red items, and some of my favorite I might add. There was a red heart, red strawberries, and a red apple! I was quite curious to find it in my lunch box; how appropriate!

After reading what Found Art is all about, it really made me smile. What a beautiful concept! Thank you, whoever put it there (Number 50)! I'm honored! Mrs. Demko

Yay! I found one!  While going to my locker on my way to Verbal with Mrs. Manetta, I saw something stuck on one of the lockers.  I was in a rush because I was later than usual.  I thought that it was just a messy locker and knew it wasn't mine.  Then I checked again, and it was my locker!  I got excited.  I immediately opened my locker and pulled it out.  When I saw it, number 203, it made me smile and brightened my day! When I showed it to my friends, it made them smile because it was from a secret admirer.  This is one great way to spread smiles around!
