Welcome to Miss Long's 6th grade science class! I look forward to getting
to know you all during the 2009-2010 school year! I graduated from
Shippensburg University, PA, with a bachleors and Masters degree in Geo-
environmental Studies. I love science and the outdoors and cannot wait to
share my passion of science with my students. I LOVE surfing and had the the
opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for a month to do just that!
Students will be learning exciting things about ecology and the
environment, and will have the chance to learn science in nature and through
hands-on labs and activities. We will be going on 3 field trips this year:
New York Aquarium, Dallenbach's Nature Preserve and Fairview YMCA Camp.
I am looking forward to having a wonderful year together!
My goal for this year is to help the students gain a better understanding
and appreciation of science. I strongly believe that hands-on experiements
and labs allow students to gain that better understanding. What better way
to learn science than through first-hand experiences!
