Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What are my expectations of you?
I have three very simple expectations. However, they mean a lot to me and I do EXPECT each student to follow them. 1. Be RESPECTFUL! Treat teachers, school personnel, classmates, and the school building with respect. 2. Be PREPARED! Be on time to class with all your materials for the period. Begin copying your homework into your agenda and working on your Do Now immediately. 3. Do your BEST! Try, take risks, don't be afraid to fail, pay attention, and participate by joining the discussion and asking questions. Remember, no one is perfect and I don't expect perfection!Back to Top
Homework is worth 10% of the final marking period grade and is due on the assigned date or it will be a zero. Homework will not be accepted late so please be responsible. Each homework assignment is worth 10 points; after 10 assignments a homework grade will be recorded. Please remember that you are responsible for turning in your Reading Response Journal (RRJ) on your assigned day during the collection weeks. These are worth a significant amount (15% of your grade) and therefore will greatly affect your overall grade if you do not turn it in.Back to Top
What can I do if I need extra help?
Come and see me! I can use class time to assist you and if you still need help, we can arrange for you to come in early or stay after school one day. Please give me at least one day's notice so that I can clear my schedule and so that you can get your parent's permission. I can only help you if you communicate with me, so never be afraid to ask!Back to Top
