This week in ILA:
 
Reading: Students continue to study the characters in their independent reading books as well as our daily read aloud "The Misfits" by James Howe. Students will be looking at character relationships, outside influences, and pressures their characters face and how these characters are affected by such changes. 

Writing:  Students have chosen a character from the independent reading book to write their character analysis literary essay.  This week, they will create a strong thesis statement which will be used as the main focus for their essay.
 
Spelling/Vocabulary: Students will continue to work in designated groups based on individual spelling levels.  Spelling rules, definitions, and use will be taught and practiced each day.
