This week in ILA:
 
Reading: We will be starting a new unit on character study that will go until the end of December. Students will be looking closely at the different character types, traits, actions, and relationships between characters.

Writing:  Celebration! Students finished their second published writing piece - realistic fiction narratives, and will start this week reading each other's stories and sharing feedback while celebrating! A new unit will begin on literary essays for character analysis. This unit compliments our reading unit by studying various characters and writing about them in a focused literary analysis essay.
 
Spelling/Vocabulary: Students will continue to work in designated groups based on individual spelling levels.  Spelling rules, definitions, and use will be taught and practiced each day.
