How can I find out what the homework assignment is?
The first place to look is your agenda! Also, to find out what
the homework is, you can look under the appropriate class link on
this site. The homework is updated weekly, but may change during
the week depending on the material covered in class.
Do I need to bring my textbook to class everyday?
Pre-Algebra students will be able to leave their textbooks at
home as we expect to have enough for a class set!
We do not have extra Algebra textbooks, however, so those
students will need to bring their text books to class every day.
All students will have the opportunity to bring home a CD of the
textbook as well. More info to come!
How can I get extra help?
Extra help will be offered after school in room 1612 one day a
week, to be announced!
Does Miss Lau hold a review session for quizzes and tests after school?
NO. Quiz and test reviews will take place during class. After
school extra help is available to help you with specific
questions or difficulties you may be having with the material.
Where can I find extra practice problems?
In addition to the homework that is assigned, you can find extra
practice problems in your textbook (at the end of each chapter
and in the back of the book). Also, you can go to classzone.com
to access extra practice problems and practice tests.
What can I do to prepare myself for tests and quizzes?
The best way to study for a math quiz or test is to review your
homework and classwork, especially those problems that were done
incorrectly (these problems should be easy to identify, because
math is always done in pencil, and corrections are made in ink)!
You can work on any problems in the packet or textbook in the
sections that we're covering, or complete the mid-chapter/Chapter
quizzes at the end of each section/chapter. In addition to that,
it's a great idea to go to classzone.com to find extra practice
problems and practice tests. Review any prior quizzes from the
chapter to see what mistakes you made so you don't make them
again!
How can I contact Miss Lau?
The best way to get in touch with me is by emailing me at
slau@ebnet.org. If you'd like to speak with me, email me a time
and phone number with which I can reach you. You can also leave
me a voicemail (x.4404) and I will get back to you as soon as
possible.
