Enjoy your summer! See you in September. The first day of school is Wednesday,
September 3rd. Check the calendar page for updates on next year's schedule.
NEW - Now available on the Donwload forms page are the general supply lists for each grade.
Each teacher will provide your child with a specific list of the types of materials such as 3-
ring binders, folders, etc. that he/she will need. Please note: Your child will need a backpack
to carry materials to and from school. We recommend a canvas backpack such as Jansport because
they are lighter than backpacks made of other materials. To lighten the weight of backpacks,
please encourage your child to only carry those notebooks and materials that he/she will need to
complete homework or study for a quiz or test. Encourage your child to leave notebooks in
his/her locker when not needed at home. Backpacks on wheels are not permitted at Hammarskjold
because they present a safety hazard in our hallways and on school grounds.
Don't forget to mention Hammarskjold when purchasing supplies at Office Depot so the school can
get credit!

This year, the PTA is operating the school store at HMS. The store is open during lunch most
Tuesdays and Thursdays. Most of the school supplies are available for purchase including
supplies as the cycle classes change.
