Quarter 4 Reading Response

RR #1(period 3/4, 8/9)

We have seen the movie Amadeus and have discussed mediocrity vs. genius. Based upon the definition of mediocrity, explain why Salieri tried to kill himself. Then evaluate if you feel that Salieri was justified in his actions against Mozart. Use support from the movie to support your answer.

RR #1 (period 1/2)

From your IR, evaluate if any character is truly gifted or exceptionally bright. Explain the qualities and attributes that this character has. What makes this character bright? What are his/her actions that demonstrate that this character is beyond normal intelligence. If there is not a character in your book that is exceptionally bright, explain how one character is of normal intelligence. What are his/her actions that demonstrate this quality?

I   am name of the character * Have fun doing this assignment. Stay as close to the character as possible.

RR #3

Julius Caesar is a tale of ambition and betrayal. Think about your IR book. Are there any friendships that are not what they seem? Do any of the characters use one another for personal gain? Are any of the characters corrupted by ambition or power? Do any friendships falter and break as a result of one character's actions?

In one complete paragraph, explain your response. Include a topic sentence which states the title of the book, the author, and your topic. Then, give 3-5 supporting details taken directly from the book to prove your point. Finsih with an appropripate closing sentence. If you are just beginning a book and have no proof, you may certainly use a book you have read already this year.
