This is our last full week of school! How did the year go by so quickly? I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your child's life. I would also like to express my gratitude for all your support in making this a successful year. I wish you all a wonderful summer. I look forward to seeing you all next year.
Homework is assigned nightly. Homework helps students to practice and review concepts and skills learned in class. Your role is very important. Homework is a time for you to see the skills the students are working on. It is also a time for you to show your child that homework is a top priority. If there are any difficulties or concerns you have either with homework or another area, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at the school number, (201) 337-4147 or by email. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every Monday students will receive a Home-School activity worksheet which lists the spelling words and the bonus words. This sheet provides a list of the words for the student to remove and keep at home for daily practice. On Tuesday the students will receive a spelling menu. Each night the students will take home paper and choose an item from the menu to be returned the following day. The homework must be signed by a parent or guardian each night.
Reading logs are due every Monday. Students should be reading for 20 minutes each night.
Students will be coming home with vocabulary words on Mondays. Vocabulary is to be completed each night and handed in. Please see the vocabulary menu.
Phonics homework will be given several days during the week. It should be completed and sent in the next day.
