   Happy cloudy and warm Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed the break after all of our testing.We have a lot to accomplish this week in all of our subject areas. Get ready to work hard. Fasten your seat belts as we race on a new goal filled fourth grade racetrack!

    This week in math we will be reviewing area and perimeter of squares and rectangles. We will have a test on Thursday on Chapter 12. In Language Arts, we will be beginning to work on persuasive writing. I have some fun activities planned for you. Have you heard of the author Patricia Polacco? She is an amazing author and we'll be reading a lot of her books and discussing story elements. In addition, you'll be doing activities with the books that involve a lot of hands on action. The British are coming! Does the Boston Tea party sound familiar? If not, don't worry you'll be learning all about how the British tried to tax the colonists in unfair ways and what that lead to in United States history. Our spelling test will be on Thursday of this week due to the long weekend that is coming up. We have an assembly to attend on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M.!

Please note that the due date for the final photo story project is now Thursday, May 23.

     We have many things to accomplish this week so put on your learning hats! Remember to always put TIME, ENERGY, and EFFORT into everything you do. Completing your homework and turning it in on time shows everyone that you are a responsible and dedicated student, including yourself.


Extra Help-Tuesdays at 8:20 A.M.-Parents please send in a written note giving your child permission to attend and also please mention the skill that your child is struggling with. Thank you.
