How often is the Hillside High School Media Center open? The media center is open on a daily basis Monday - Friday for students, faculty, and administration of the Hillside High School Community. What period of time may books be borrowed? Students may borrow books for a two-week time period. What are the operating hours of the Library Media Center? The Library Media Center is open during school and after school hours. We are available from the hours of 8:00AM - 4:00PM. May students work in the library during lunch periods? Students must first attend lunch. Fifteen minutes after lunch students that wish to do research in the library may do so after a pass has been issued. May students visit the media center during their scheduled class? Students are allowed in the media center with a pass from their classroom teacher and/or with permission from the library staff. What sources are available in the media center? Many volumes of encyclopedia, biographies, novels, periodical, audio, and visual are available in the center. Do we have internet access in the media center? Yes, Internet access is available. Please be aware of students' search and possible connection to additional sites outside the relm of our carefully selected selections. We select kid safe sites that present information or service considered useful and/or entertaining. Do student(s) and staff have access to databases from home? Online databases such as the Thompson Gale and Worldbook Online are available throughout the school year and during the summer months for the Hillside High School Community from home. Are there passwords one must utilize to access the Online Databases ? Yes, Please stop by and retrieve a packet of information which provides password(s) for remote access from out databases to your home for all of your research requirements. What is the fine for overdue books? A fine of .05 per day will be incurred for overdue books. |
