December Birthdays: Baby Jesus
Our tissue supply is getting low, so I am asking the girls to send a box of
tissues, 18 girls, 18 boxes should last us awhile. Thank you so much.
If you are out shopping, we will need wipes for the desks. We use them often
to help keep the germs away. Thanks so much.
If the boys want to send their roll of paper towels, I would appreciate
those, too.
Thanksgiving sharing time went very well. Ask the children about the word
barter.
Book reports were very nicely done. Thank you for all your efforts. The
next project will be on a Christmas or Religious story. Teacher approval.
Marking period closes on Dec. 4th. Report cards and conference papers will be
sent home the following week. Please sign the envelope and return only the
envelope. Keep the report card. Please return conference papers, if needed.
Phonics: We are working on the ar as in car. We are still working on
doubling ending letters such as in hitting, stopping.
Reading: This week we will work on context clues..
Math: We will begin double digit adding and subtracting with regrouping. We
always work on word problems. Don't forget facts, some of us are really
getting better. Vocab to practice: double, a dozen. expanded form, and word
form.
Grammar: We started verbs. Keep practicing possessives.
Science: Test on chapter three on Friday, Dec. 11. Watch for study sheet.
Each Friday is bring a book to read day.
We still have so many on-going Wall-e projects. The children are having a
great time with our monthly poems. This month is cinquain. Ask them what they
wrote.
Dec. 12th is Reconciliation.
Holy Day on Tuesday. No school.
