Homework

week of December 7-

Due to my being absent on Thursday and Friday all of the plans listed here
are tentative depending on how well I feel the class managed the material
last
week in my absence. If I think they don't feel secure with something I will
go over it again and this may change some of the timelines listed here. So
please bear with me till I can get a better feel for how they are doing.

Reading- I will introduce the new vocab, genre, and target skill for our new
story
entitled, " The Missing Links". HW on Monday night will be working with the
vocab, wb.p. 92 it is not due until Wed. HW on Thursday night will be 2
pages from the Wb. working with a skill. (pgs 97/98) Because of our day off
on Tuesday
the weekly assessment will be on Friday 12/11.

Spelling- On Monday we will have our pretest of new list words, HW that night
will be Wb.p. 37. It is not due until Wed. There will be 3 word wall words
this week, be sure to include them in your studying for the test on Friday
12/11.

Math- We will be working with putting fractions in greatest terms, working
with the LCD and LCM, mixed numbers, and fractions greater then one.
( approx. pgs 144-150) There will be homework nightly, some students have
started slacking off on completing all work in the workbook. This is not a
good idea as each new skill builds on a prior one in this chapter.

Soc. St.- TBA after I speak with Mrs. Cedeno since she was also out on
Thursday.

Lang. Arts- (GR) We will be working on demonstrative and interrogative
pronouns which will bring us to the end of the chapter on pronouns by the
latter end of the week. If all goes well I will review on Friday for the
last pronoun test which should be early the following week.
(WR) We will continue working on writing our editorials on the Everglades
that we started in class last week.

Science- Students were given an outline of their research requirements and
their assigned Biome, due date for all work is Thursday 12/10. I will not
be testing on this chapter, the report combined with the oral panel
discussions based on the research will replace a test for this chapter.

Religion- We will be finishing up all work on chapter 8 by Wed. and I hope
to have an open book test on this chapter Thursday 12/10.
