week of May 21-23-

Reading-  On Monday I will review the target skill and vocab with them for 
the 14 Q. assessment type test on our story " Miss. Alaineous".  We will then 
prepare for our Reading Final which will consist of 2 parts.  One part will 
be matching with vocab drawn from vocab we have had from our stories this 
year (approx. 35) and the other half will be a Reading comprehension, they 
will reead 2 short stories and answer 14 questions .  This final is scheduled 
for Thursday 5/31.

Spelling- We will have our weekly test on last weeks words on Monday.  Please 
be sure that you have studeied all 25 list words.
 
Lang Arts-  (GR)  We will continue our work with sentences.  This week we 
will focus on both simple subject/predicate and also complete 
subject/predicate.  (approx. txtbk pgs 438-441)  Our most recent test on 
cinjunctions and interjections has not been handed back because I am still 
waiting for 2 people to make it up.

(WR)  Students will finish work on their Tall Tales and complete the required 
illustration for us to begin the oral presentations the following week.

Math-  I was very disappointed with the results of the test on Geometry.  I 
even made the test an open note test.   Too many students refuse to keep good 
notes despite my constantly stressing to them the  importance of this!  
Moving on we are now working on charts and graphing.  We will have a project 
from this chapter which will be counted equal weight to a test.  We are also 
going to begin reviewing for the Math Final.  I have set one hour aside on 
Monday for this, and then again  next Tuesday.  The final will have 40 
questions.  It is scheduled for Wednesday 5/30.

Science-  On Monday the class will put their newfound knowledge about Ke and 
PE to use designing and executing a roller coaster ride with 2 loops.  On 
Tuesday they will be learning about sound energy and on Wednesday we will 
watch a video on energy.

Soc. St.-  The students last week had a quiz on Latin America with Mrs, 
Cedeno and I believe they did a very nice job.  She cannot return them until 
the last makeups have been taken.  REMINDER_ homework on 5/18 Friday was to 
recheck and accurately complete Q #3 and Q# 4 as she will be collecting them 
on Monday!

Religion- I will be able to return Friday's unit 4 test as soon as all makeup 
tests have been taken.  This week we will be working in chapter 21 concerning 
how all life is precious.  They will also be working on a graded worksheet 
for an assigned Saint.(in class)
