Pre k has a 4 standing "homework assignments" weekly. These will not start the
first week. I will send home a BIG note when the time comes.
1) To bring in SHOW AND TELL on their assigned day and be able to talk about
the object in some meaningful way.
2) Cut out pictures for the CLASSROOM LETTER OF THE WEEK COLLAGE to bring in
and glue to our board.
This is your CHILD'S homework, you are a cheerleader and an assistant :) and I
know what 4 year old's work looks like..... :)
3)ENVIRONMENTAL PRINT : words from circulars, newspapers,cereal/food containers
that your child recognizes, cut out by the student,and brought in to glue to
class notebook.
4)WEEKLY ANIMAL REPORTS - I will explain in detail at later date. Given on Friday
info sheet should be read a few times. The CHILD answers as best as s/he can
writes a simple answer and draws a picture AS BEST THEY CAN and returned
following Friday.
This "homework" is about the process not the product. Enjoy your child's
ability- hacking into a picture will soon be replaced by smooth cutting so go
ahead and smile about it. Notice what words your child recognizes or THINKS
she recognizes- they'll all learn to read soon enough.
