Hello Parents!
A few updates/requests:
1) Used Game Drive for Recess: As a reminder, we are collecting gently used games for our children to play with during indoor recess. Any games appropriate for any grades from 1st through 5th are very much appreciated!! The children love Legos, but any other games/puzzles that your children may no longer be using would be wonderful. Please send them in with your child through December 22nd. Thank you!!
2) Family Fun Night: You will be receiving a flyer in Friday's Folder that will let you know of a family fun night at Jumping Jungle on Wednesday, December 30th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Jumping Jungle in East Brunswick. The cost for the children is just $8.95 per child, and 15% of the proceeds will come right back to Irwin!! It will be a great fun night to break up the week for the kids - we hope you can make it!!
3) Tricky Tray: Many parents have approached that they want to help, but they don't know what to give and they can't afford a lot - we completely understand this!! There are a few items we can really use: $5 gift cards to ShopRite, $5 gift cards to Toys R Us, any $5 manicure/pedicure gift card, any type of women's hair accessories (i.e. brushes, irons, dryers, etc.) Or, any dollar amount to help us purchase these items from $1 and up is greatly appreciated!! We know it is hard to spend extra money during the holidays, but this small purchase/or monetary donation can help provide tremendous technology to our school. Please try to help with any type of donation that you can - thank you so much for your consideration and on-going support!! 4) Please visit the 'Irwin Insider Newspaper' page of this website to view the Winter Edition of the Insider.
The Irwin School PTA would like to wish you a very happy and magical holiday, and a wonderful new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tricky Tray: Thanks to all of the families that have contributed so far for our annual Tricky Tray, which will be held on Friday, February 19th at Hammarskjold Middle School. There is now all of the information about the Tricky Tray on the PTA website, including what baskets are being done for each class, contributors to date from businesses, as well as all businesses contacted to date. Please continue to bring in any contributions that you may have at home, including baskets, any unused gifts that you want to donate, or even a cash contribution of $1, $2, $3 - any amount will help us to purchase items for baskets. All proceeds from the tricky tray will help to purchase additional technology for our school. Thank you so much for your continued support!! As always, please don't hesitate to contact Ann Marie (seanally@comcast.net) with any questions.
As you know, our school earns money by you sending in your Box Tops for Education, which look like the logo below. We earned over $1000 last year for our school just with this fundraiser. We are having our contest to see which class can send in the most Box Tops for a free recess - So far, Mrs. Sarti, Ms. LiPuma, and Ms. Graf are leading, but there is still plenty of time until the end of February when this contest ends. Please help us by simply cutting them out and sending them in with your child - thank you!!
