Word Study (based on Words Their Way)
Each student has been assessed on their spelling strengths and weaknesses
and placed in a cooperative learning group. Students will work each week to
master various spelling skills and strategies.
Monday-Students will be introduced to their new sort for the week. Students
are taught either the pattern, sound, or meaning that their sort has in
common.
Tuesday: Students will work independently to practice manipulating and
sorting their words for the week.
Wednesday: Students will review sorts again by completing a partner or blind
sort.
Thursday: Assessments are given on 15 of the weekly words.
