Borrowing Policy

KINDERGARTENERS:
Students in Kindergarten will be able to borrow a maximum of one book for 
use at home or in class during the week.

Kindergarteners will be given a library card during their time in the 
library.  If they borrow a book, the card will be placed inside the front or 
back jacket of the book.  This card is to REMAIN IN THE BOOK while the book 
is being used at home or in class.  If they don't borrow a book, the card 
will remain in the library, to be available the next time a book is borrowed.

If a book is not returned whithin the week alloted, the child will not be 
able to borrow another book until that book is returned.  

Please make every effort to help your child maintain a positive book 
borrowing experience with our library - by teaching your child to keep the 
book in a safe place at home.

GRADES 1 THROUGH 5:
Students in grades 1(one) through 5(five) will have the opportunity to 
borrow two books at a time, for a period of two weeks.  A new book may only 
be borrowed if a previous book is returned.  Library cards will be not used, 
but all borrowing activity will be recorded in the Media Center computer.  A 
student may not borrow more than 

The student's teacher, Mrs. Berzanskis, and the class schedule will 
determine whether or not books may be borrowed during class time in a given 
week.

At certain times during the school year, the student's teacher may require 
the student to borrow addtional book(s) for research purposed or projects.  
In this case, a student may have more than the allowed two books out at one 
time.  The student has the same responsibility for taking care of all books 
in their possession.  

LIBRARY FINES:
Any student that has not returned a library book by the end of the school 
year will be fined $12.00 for each book still outstanding.
