Our first food drive has begun. Please send in boxed or canned foods to
donate to our food banks. A notice and an orange plastic bag was sent home on
Friday. This is a great way for your children to experience giving to their
community.
A few reminders...
The website is updated on a weekly basis. Monday night is a good time to
check the website. If there is an update in the middle of the week it will be
assigned for homework. Please continue to visit this website often during the
year for information about what's going on in our class!
We have a WORKING snack each day . Please send your child to school
with a healthy, easy-to-eat snack. We do not allow any drinks besides water
bottles in my classroom during snack due to the chance of sticky spillage and
ruined books and papers. Thank you for your understanding.
Mr. Leiberman has asked all parents to please follow the district guidelines
when sending in birthday treats. No item that has sugar as the first
ingredient or candy should be sent into the school for any reason. If parents
are not sure and also to have time, they can purchase treats through the
child nutrition department. They can e-mail them at childnutrition@ebnet.org
or call at 732-613-6717. Mr. Leiberman appreciates everyone's cooperation.
ALSO, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND IN NAPKINS AND ANY OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED TO
EAT THE SNACK! I always have a few napkins on hand left over
from parties and such, but not always enough for the whole class.
Our class is a peanut free zone. A letter from Mrs. Ladman HAS gone
home to explain what our responsibility as a class community is to keep all
of our children safe. There CAN NOT be any munchkins in Mrs. Sountis.
Lunch ticket money is now collected on Friday.
PTA is still requesting to continue to collect Box Top rewards.
If students are printing any assignments they are to email them to the
assigned teacher.
To get in touch with teachers it is better to email. Look in your
child's homework agenda for the address.
When the Friday Folders are issued to the students they need to be signed
and returned on Monday. Please take out all of the papers and keep them at
home for future reference. Only send back all quizzes and tests signed and
any assignment(s)that you or your child have a question about it. This is
an important resource for parents to know how their children are doing in
school. *All tests, Web logs, and reading lists are to be signed and
returned ASAP.
Parents please check you child's homework agenda on a daily basis. Set up a
routine to make sure this can be accomplished. The agenda is an important
communication piece between parent, student, and teacher. In the front of
the agenda there is the website address, teachers' email addresses and a
homework buddy's phone # if further assistance is needed.
The password this week is friendship. This week the students will be
receiving a poem on friendship. They are to memorize their homeroom stanza
for our celebrate success assembly later this month. Practice with them.
*Remember to have your child write the password in their homework agendas
and a parent/guardian initial it every Monday for homework.
