Mr. Koch has been teaching at JFK since 2002, and has has taught the Junior
Honors curriculum since 2004. He has served on the Eleventh Grade Language
Arts Curriculum Committee, as well as being the co-author of the Journalism I
and Jounalism II curriculums. Prior to becoming a
teacher Mr. Koch worked in television and advertising for Viacom.
The goal of the Junior English course is to introduce the skills necessary
for literary critcal analysis through a survey of American Literature.
Emphasis is on short anaytical writing incorporating strong thesis creation
in tandem with support from textual evidence. Major texts include "The
Crucible", The Great Gatsby and "A Glass Menagerie".
