Course Objectives

Students in Web Design classes will acquire a working knowledge of web 
publishing software developing proficiencies in Macromedia Studio MX 
including Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX, and Flash MX, as well as Microsoft 
Office 2007 web features in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher. Students 
will enhance design layout and graphic arts skills, critical thinking skills, 
efficient planning and organizational skills, time management skills, and 
file management skills through the completion of a variety of assigned tasks 
and websites creation.  Students will be afforded the opportunity to achieve 
Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certifications.

Students in Computer Applications 1 and 2 classes will acquire a working 
knowledge in word processing software, desktop application software, 
spreadsheet software, and presentation software. Students will develop 
proficiencies in Microsoft Office 2007 applications including Microsoft Word, 
Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, as well as 
Microsoft Internet Explorer.  Students will enhance language arts skills, 
creative writing skills, mathematics skills, critical thinking skills, 
efficient planning and organizational skills, time management skills, and 
file management skills through the completion of a variety of assigned tasks 
and integrated projects.

Students will develop internet safety skills and become certified as an isafe 
mentor.  Students will also be afforded the opportunity to achieve Microsoft 
Office Specialist (MOS) Certifications.
