Borrowing Policy

All classes at Lawrence Brook School visit the Library Media Center each
week for a 40-minute period which may include a library skills lesson,
technology instruction in the Media Center and/or Computer Lab, sharing &
enjoying literature, and a book selection period.

Students in Kindergarten may borrow 1 book for 1 week. They may not borrow a
book without returning the previous book. A computer printout is sent home
as a reminder of an outstanding title.

Students in Grades 1 - 2 may borrow 1 book or magazine for 1 week. They may
not borrow a book without returning the previous book.

Students in Grades 3 - 5 may borrow 2 books, or 1 book and 1 magazine, for 2
weeks. They may not borrow a book without returning the previous book.

No fines are charged for overdue materials. Fines are charged, however, for
damaged or lost materials, based on the damage and/or cost of replacement.
Books purchased at a book store CANNOT BE ACCEPTED in lieu of the book
fine. Please wait for a computer-generated fine notice before sending money
in with your child.

Book care and responsibility are encouraged at Lawrence Brook School.
Please help your children to find a safe place at home to keep their books
and remind them to return them on time.
