Monday and Tuesday-Matrix for Understanding the Bill of Rights
Wednesday-Friday "the Case of the Cussing Canoeist" analyzing the Bill
of Rights: Freedom of Speech and read play Bill of Rights and begin speech
using current events and the Bill of Rights. How are our rights protected
today by the Bill of Rights? Speeches will be given in class on Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday next week, June 16, 17 and 18th.
Homework: until 6/16 work on Current events/Bill of Rights speech that
your puppet will make next week using the puppet theater.

Work on Constitution Card Sort and Study for Constitution Test

May 26-29
In class we took notes on the Constitutional Convention and the failings
of the Articles of Confederation. For homework we are using those notes to
make an invitation to the Convention (see direction sheet). Then we started
working on the "Consitution Card Sort" activity using our pocket
Constitutions. There will be a quiz next week on the Constitution.
Homework: complete Constitutional Conventions Invitation
due on May 29th for Block II, June 1st for Blocks I, III and IV
and due June 2nd for Block V

Meet the Press presentation in class
Week of May 4-8 and 11-13
We are beginning our work on Meet the Press. Each person in a 3 or 4
person group has a job to do. We will be examining the ideas and beliefs of
one on nine historicl figures: Abaigail Adams, Benjamin Banneker, Hiawatha,
Thomas Hobbes, King Louis XIV, William Laud, John Locke, Baron de
Montesquieu, and Mary Wollstonecraft.
Homework: each member of the group is asked to bring in extra research
about their person from the internet.

SOMETHING COMES UP. ANY PROJECT NOT TURNED IN BY FRIDAY IS A...ZERO
Homework for April 24th: one half yard of pill-free fleece, any solid color
Please bring your half yard of fleece into school as soon as possible so
we
can begin our puppets. ( You can find it at Walmart or Joanne's Fabrics)
Weeks of April 13-April 24
With the exception of Career Day on April 17th and our class trip to
Philadelphia on April 20th. We have been working on our Revolutionary War
Stamp Project. On Friday, April 24th we are going to the Computer Lab to
publish the work completed. The rest must be done by the due date below.
Block V due Monday April 27th (I will collect it in Homeroom)
Block I, II, III, IV are due Tuesday, April 28th.
Weeks of March 23- April 3
Continue work on Blue Activity Sheet for the Revolution Unit. By
April 3rd all students should have completed Artwork of the Revolution to
study for the test when we return from vacation. all work is due completed
by
Tuesday April 14th. Artwork of the Revolution Test will be April 15 or 16
depending on the day you have class.
homework: any work that needs to be completed to make the 4/10
deadline.
Week of March 16-20
Read Chapter 7 in your text book. We are beginning our IDE Unit on
the American Revolution. Activity sheets were distributed on Tuesday and
Wednesday. There is no homework unless you are not getting activities
completed in class.
Week of March 9-13
We begin our Town meetings on Monday, March 9th. It may take at
least three blocks to finish all the speeches and vote to see if we go to
war
to fight for our independence from England. We will also be viewing a video
about some of the famous Revolutionaries: Sam Adams, John Adams, John
Hancock, etc.
Week of March 2-6
Work on Wiki and Loyalist/Patriot speech
Town meeting will be Monday and Tuesday March 9 and 10
Week of February 23-27
All work on Activity Sheet is due by Friday 2/27 After Friday there
will be no classtime to work on Activitiy sheet because we will be working
on
the Wiki and Town Meeting.
On Tuesday and Wednesday 2/24 and 2/25 instructions for the Wiki and
Loyalist/Patriot Speech were explained and distributed. We will be working
on the Wiki and Town Meeting Speeches in class all next week.
Weeks of February 9-20
Students are working on the New Unit "Road to Revolution" various
activities. This unit started February 3rd. Work on Photo Story will be
done in class unless students want to download the free PhotoStory3 and have
a microphone at home. Otherwise, all this is available in class or before
school any morning.
PHOTO STORY IS DUE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH.
BOUND MAGAZINE IS DUE TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH.
Week of February 2-6
Monday-Last day to work on Colonial Magazine. Last of the 10 pages are
due today. All late work must be turned in by Wednesday the last
day of the marking period.
Tuesday-Friday--begin new unit "The Road to Revolution" with Miss Wilson
all work is to be done in class.

Work on Colonial Magazine Map Page and Visual Biography due 1/16
Week of January 5th-9th
There will be a quiz on the 13 original English colonies on the 2nd, 3rd
and 4th class this week. The first quiz is on the 4 New England colonies,
the second quiz is the 4 Middle Colonies and the 3rd quiz is the 5 Southern
Colonies. You must know the names and be able to label the map
We are also beginning work on our "Colonial Magazine" research project
On Tuesday and Wednesday you will be receiving the rubric and
instruction sheet as well as picking your colony. The magazine will be due
at the end of the month.
Power Point/Smart Board Project (Lest We Forget) grades will be posted by
Saturday, December 13th. All grades have been updated as of 11:22 PM
12/12/08. If you are missing any work (?)see me immediately. All late work
must be made up before the Holiday break or the "?" will become a zero.
Week of December 22-23
Test on Chapter 3 is Monday for Blocks I, II, III, and IV
Tuesday for Block V
Students were reminded to take home their study guide on Thursday in
case of bad weather. If you don't have your study guide then use your book,
that is suppose to be at home, to study chapter 3
Week of December 15-19
Each class will have quizzes on Chapter 3 Sections 1, 2 and 3 as a
study guide for the Chapter test on Thursday or Friday. Any student who
receives an "A" average on the 3 quizzes doesn't have to take the test.
Anyone who doesn't have an "A" average can use the corrected quizzes as a
study guide for the test. Each student has 2 opportunities for an "A".
