Instrumental Music Program
The Long Valley Middle School Instrumental Music Program offers a variety of
opportunities for your 6-8 grade students. We offer opportunities for
ensemble playing and lessons on all Band and Orchestral Instruments.
Students may choose from the following
Band Instruments:
Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone
Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone Horn, Tuba
Percussion-Snare, Bass and Auxiliary Instruments
Strings Instruments:
Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass
Lessons and Rehearsals:
Students who sign up to be part of the instrumental music program will be
scheduled for one lesson each time they are in the 9 day Physical Education
rotation. They will also have group rehearsals every Monday and Wednesday
during “Flex Period”. Flex Period was designed so that students who are in
the Instrumental Music Program will not miss any academic classes.

7th Grade Gold Band Beginner Fiddle Group
8th Grade Blue Band Advanced Fiddles/Chamber Group

Select Jazz Ensemble
Advanced Level Students will have the opportunity to audition for Regional
groups such as Region Band or Orchestra and Area Band. These groups are by
audition only, and by the recommendation of the student’s teacher.
