MANITO’S THIRD ANNUAL COMEDY JAM
BY:  Christine Halloran, Nancy Meyer, & Margaret Michaud
Tickets for Manito's 3rd Annual Comedy Jam Fundrasiser are now on sale.  Due to its overwhelming success last year, the event will continue to be held on two dates:  Friday, January 29th and Saturday, January 30th.  The doors of the Oakland Knights of Columbus will open at 7:00pm with a buffet dinner served at 7:30pm, followed by tricky tray, comedy show, and table syndicate.  The evening will include two top-notch comedians, dinner and dessert, all for $50/person.  Plus, as an added bonus, if you purchase your tickets before December 4th, a sheet of raffle tickets ($15.00 value) will also be included with your ticket.  Seating will be general admission, but tables of 10 can be reserved in advance.  As seats are limited, we encourage you to reserve early before tickets are all sold out.  Flyers were sent home in your child's backpack.  Additional reservation forms can be downloaded from the PTO website. For further information about the event, please contact Margaret Michaud at michaudm@optonline.net.

HELPING OUT IN OUR COMMUNITY:

Please bring in canned goods, cereals, paper goods, peanut butter and jelly for families in need right here in Oakland.  There will be a box outside of the office until November 17th for you to drop off your goods.

SAVE MONEY, RAISE MONEY THROUGH TD BANK
The Oakland Education Foundation (OEF) is now participating in the TD Bank Affinity Program, which is helping the OEF raise money by donating a percentage of all balances linked to OEF Affinity Program. Link your existing TD Bank account(s) or open a new account. TD Bank will deposit $25 into your account if you open a new, non-interest bearing checking account. Call or stop by your branch to link your account to the Oakland Education Foundation Affinity Program. The OEF will be notified only of the number of accounts linked. No one will have access to any individual’s account balance information. Each year TD Bank will donate a percentage of the average balance of linked accounts.

SHOP RITE DISCOUNT CARD:

The Indian Hills H.S. Performing Arts Association has been selling a Shop Rite discount card for $15.00.  We wanted to extend this offer to the grammer schools in Oakland. I have heard people are looking for the card!  Attached are all the details.

The card is $15.00 and allows you to receive $5.00 off your grocery purchase of $100.00 or more.  This will result in a weekly savings of $5.00 for most families.  The card is valid Oct. 2009 thru Sept. 30, 2010.  If anyone is interested they can send a check to me for $15.00 per card made out to Indian Hills H.S. PAA.  The form is not necessary for the card. I will then mail a card out to them that week.

If you have any questions I can be reached at 201-405-1554.

Thank you,

Laura Baczewski
