Character Education

"Character isn't inherited. One builds it daily by the way one thinks and acts, thought by thought, action by action."

This year, Manito School will be focusing on the six pillars of character.
1) Caring
2) Fairness
3) Respect
4) Responsibility
5) Citizenship
6) Trustworthiness

Throughout the year, teachers will nominate students as Pillars of
Character.  These students will be recognized during the morning
announcements and given a certificate. They will also have their picture taken and placed on the Character Education bulletin board on the first floor. In addition, they will receive an official letter from the Character Education Committee congratulating them on helping to make Manito such a wonderful place to go to school!

Teachers are also on the look-out for students demonstrating acts of
kindness in the building.  Any lucky students who are noticed performing a Random Act of Kindness receive a ticket!  Part of the ticket comes home to let you know about your child's achievement, and the other part is put in a jar in the office.  At the end of each month, three lucky winners are chosen.  They receive a Random Acts of Kindness t-shirt and have their picture taken.  (These pictures are displayed outside of the Main Office).
