Reading Strategies

Here is a quick list of common decoding and comprehension strategies:

Decoding Strategies
~ Sound out the word
~ Look at the pictures
~ See what makes sense
~ Look for little chunks or words you know inside the word
~ Skip the word and see if the rest of the sentence helps you
