1st Grade Reading homework This year is all about getting your child to read with and to you each night. In addition to reading their "just right" books with you, your child will work on learning the district sight word list over the course of the year. This list of words is the key to opening up a child's world to reading and it is very important that you assist your child with learning these words. Whenever reading with your child, please look for words that they have reveiwed to help them make the connection that these "words" are everywhere. Make a set of words at home to keep in the car, by the TV, or in the kitchen so that you can practice them over the weekends, while waiting for siblings, or even during commercials.
There will be no more WWW for the year. We've reached 100! Your Child Will Be Bringing Home Their School Set Soon To Study Over The Summer
Please review your words that were sent home over the next few days. Watch for ABC homeword to reinforce phonics. This work is in addition to studying sight words each night.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to working with both you and your child this year!
