January Scholastic Book Orders are due by the morning of January 12, 2010.
Orders can be done online (see below for directions on how to do this) or
brought into school (checks only).
Multiplication and division are here! Each week your child will be assigned a
certain fact family to study, and there will be a quiz on Friday. Please
check your child’s agenda (or my website) to see which fact family to study.
They are responsible for knowing all the multiplication/division facts up to
12. You can study using flashcards, a deck of cards, pencil and paper, or a
game. Studying a few facts a night is a good strategy so that it is not
overwhelming. Thank you for your support.
Scholastic Book Orders can now be done online! I will still be collecting
money/checks or you can use the online option. If you'd like to do it
online, here's how it works:
1. Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Clubs Web
site.
2. Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with your
credit card.
3. Your order will come to me, and your credit card payment will go
directly to Scholastic's secure server. There's no need to send money to
school.
4. After I submit the entire class's order to Scholastic, your order
will be delivered to our classroom for your child to take home.

Please remember to read over the weekends. It is important that you are
reading for at least 100 minutes a week and getting your reading calendar
signed.
**A group of Reading Specialists designed an ILA Parent Page to inform K-5
parents of the most current ILA news. The page consists of Announcements,
Upcoming Events, The Components of an ILA Day, Sight Word Lists, Sight Word
Strategies, Assessment Information and a Photo Gallery.
Parents can easily access this page by going onto ebnet.org, clicking on
Curriculum, Language Arts, and then Language Arts K-5 Parent Page (found in
the top left corner).
Please stay tuned for any upcoming announcements.
