Homework

***Homework Calendars (schedules) will be given to each student prior to
each month for journals and Words of the Week (spelling/vocabulary). Each
calendar will tell which assignments are due on each particular day. Please
remember to also mark down assignments in your agenda books.***

Students should be reading at least twenty minutes every night. Make sure
that you are discussing the book and getting the weekly reading calendars
signed. Reading calendars will be collected and scored every Friday.

Journals are due on your assigned due day (#1-6 Monday, #7-12 Tuesday, #12-
19 Wednesday, #20-24 Thursday, and #25-28 Friday). Check your journal
calendar to see which assignment is due that week.

Words of the Week work is done Monday-Thursday with a quiz on Friday.
Please check your Journal/Words of the Week Calendars so that you know which
assignment is due.

We are working in literature circles during Reader's Workshop. Please make
sure you read your group's assigned pages and complete your job for your
group each week.

The third marking period book project was handed out on Monday, 2/25/08.
This marking period's project requires you to read a Biography or
Autobiography and use the book to create an oral presentation and puppet or
doll. Please use your direction sheet and rubric as a guide while working
on this project. If you have any questions, please let Mrs. Smith know
right away. Remember, all projects are due by April 3, 2008 (and your book
must be approved by Mrs. Smith by March 3, 2008). Don't wait until the last
minute, start right now! Happy Reading!!!
