Conference slips were handed out on Friday, October 3 (sibling conference
slips were sent out the last week of September). Please make sure that you
look over and sign the slip ASAP. Conferences are only scheduled during the
day.
The first marking period book report was given out on Wednesday, Sept. 17,
2008. All mystery books need to be approved by Mrs. Smith by Monday, Sept.
29, 2008. Please refer to your rubric and guide while working on the
report. If you have any questions let Mrs. Smith know ASAP. All book
reports are due on or before October 31, 2008. Don't wait until the last
minute start now and enjoy!
Scholastic Book Orders can now be done online! I will still be collecting
money/checks or you can use the online option. If you'd like to do it
online, here's how it works:
1. Use the information below to access the Scholastic Book Clubs Web
site.
2. Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with your
credit card.
3. Your order will come to me, and your credit card payment will go
directly to Scholastic's secure server. There's no need to send money to
school.
4. After I submit the entire class's order to Scholastic, your order
will be delivered to our classroom for your child to take home.

Please remember to read over the weekends. It is important that you are
reading for at least 140 minutes a week and getting your reading calendar
signed.
