Dear Memorial School Family,

On behalf of the Memorial School PTA, we would like to welcome you to the new 2009-2010 school year!

As our children’s new school year begins it is important that we are there to support them in all that they need. The Memorial School PTA exists for that sole reason. The Memorial PTA is an active organization with tremendous parent and teacher/staff participation. I would like to offer you this opportunity to join the PTA and become an active part of your child’s school experience. Membership in the PTA is very simple and very affordable. ONLY $14 per household allows you to become a member. That money directly goes to benefit your child through events such as the Monster Mash, Ice Cream Social, Toy Bingo and Family Fun Nights. These events are completely funded only by the PTA.

It would be nice to think that $14 is all we each had to do so that our kids would have the best of everything. The reality is that the PTA is an ALL volunteer parent group. I know when I first joined the PTA just a short time ago I was concerned with how much time it would take and what kind of people already belonged. The reality I found was that all different types of people with all types of backgrounds already belonged to the PTA. The other truth I found was that if I could only help with just 1 small event, the PTA was overjoyed that I could even be there. The group has given me the chance to learn about my child’s life at school and didn’t require much of my time or money. All I needed to do was become involved.

As a fellow Memorial School parent I know at this time of year we are getting swamped with paperwork. I strongly encourage you however to take 5 minutes and complete the membership enrolment form on the reverse side of this letter. As parents, we get only one chance to be involved in our child’s life at school and this is that chance. Don’t let this great opportunity pass you by.
