Forensic Science (1)

Welcome to Forensic Science.

We will be learning and practicing the techniques used by Crime Scene Investigators (CSI's) to process crime scenes and collect evidence, as well as laboratory techniques practiced by Forensic Scientists to process and test that evidence. Although there is no midterm or final exam in this course, there is a practical (crime scene) exercise each semester, there are many hands-on activities, and there are chapter tests.

MARKING PERIOD 2

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9

MONDAY

You will hand in the lab sheet summary of the activities you did in processing latent prints.  On Wednesday there will be a test on Chapter 4, Fingerprints, including fingerprint types, patterns, minutia, comparison, identification.

In class today, we will begin looking at the next chapter, Chapter 5, Hair and Fur via a powerpoint presentation. 

TUESDAY

We will finish our powerpoint on Hair and Fur.

WEDNESDAY

Test on Chapter 4, Fingerprints

THURSDAY

You will do an exercise in class that shows how hair found at a crime scene may be used to help solve a crime.

FRIDAY

You will begin your microscope lab work on examining, identifying and drawing different kinds of hair and fur from prepared slides, and slides that you make in class.  This activity will take us at least through next Tuesday.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 16

MONDAY

We will continue with the microscope lab, begun on Friday

TUESDAY

You will complete the microscope lab.

WEDNESDAY

This is Culture Day, and you will be away from school
