Like to Babysit????
The Annual Kiwanis HOLIDAY CHILDCARE is scheduled for SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2009, from 12:30 TO 3:30 PM at the MASONIC LODGE (8 Smull Ave., Caldwell- across the street from Dancy's Funeral Home). The MSDA Key Club has been a huge part in making this event a success the last couple of years..I hope you can participate again this year.
We need to know the number of volunteers by Nov. 30th. The first shift should arrive by 12 noon and anyone who wants to come earlier to help set up please arrive by 11:00. Thank you.
 
Don't forget to get your dues in-- $13.00  Allison Zabady is collecting

Thanks to all who made hats & blankets.  More available if you want to get one from L5 and make it at home and bring it in when you are done.

Schedule for November Meeting


Meeting Date:  Thursday November 20  7:30 AM in L5
                       WARM UP AMERICA BLANKETS!!!--No sewing needed.
 Fleece hats and blankets for babies.

     Catherine Mikula, Emilie Stewart, Liz Lembo, Julie Takagi, Allison Zabady, Kate McKenna, & Aubrey Skolnik
    
 
 Suggested Items For Soldiers—Keep it Small! It’s the thought that counts!

1. Prayers: for those serving and their families.

2. Notes, letters or cards from you. They love to get mail and hear news from home.

3. Recreation Items

     Playing cards, puzzle books, magazines,  small posters, art
     supplies, travel games, yo-yo’s

4. Food: 

     Hard candy or mints, snacks (pretzels, packaged cookies, granola bars, healthy snacks, 
     energy bars), gum, Peanut butter, jelly, dried soup mixes, microwave Chef Boyardee
     meals ( even without microwaves, they eat them cold), instant coffee (caffeinated),
     non-dairy creamer, sugar packets, powdered drinks (Gatorade, lemonade, iced tea),
     cookies, tuna in pouches, tea bags.

 Please note, no homemade goodies (for security purposes) or chocolate ( it melts).

 5. Hygiene and First Aid

     Hand wipes, hand sanitizer, shaving necessities, powders, lotions, Anything for their
     feet ( gel soles, foot powder, blister pads, lambs wool, foot cream, white or black
     socks, flip flops), Band-aids, first aid creams, gauze pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste,
     shampoo, soap, body wash, hand cream, Chap-Stick, cough drops, contact lens
     solution, Q-tips, sunscreen, pocket first aid kit, eye drops, small pkg. of tissues.

 6. Miscellaneous

     Note paper, various occasion cards (that they can use to send home) , envelopes, pens,
     journals, calendars, pocket- sized date planners, mini flags from home ( state flag or
     college flag, sports flags or posters ( to decorate offices or rooms), White T-shirts,
     small sewing kits, black shoe polish.

 Please note:

          a. Any item that could leak should be placed in a zip-lock bag
          b. No aerosol sprays or items that are combustible. 
          c. No glass containers

 Keep in mind they just like hearing from you. Nothing is as exciting as mail call and getting cards and letters from well-wishers at home. Thank you.
