1. What type of person does Miller describe Giles Corey to be? What is the real reason, according to the narrator, that Giles probably could not pray?
2. What types of questions does Hale begin asking Betty? Does Betty react at all?
3. What new information do we learn about the girls' séance the night before? What did they have in a kettle?
4. Why does Hale turn his questions to Abigail? What does he now suspect?
5. Who does Abigail start to blame to cover up her own guilt? Why is she starting to panic?
