What does REBEL mean?
(Reaching Everyone By Exposing Lies) Working to reveal Big Tobacco's lies
and making our communities tobacco-free, to influence legislation at the
state level and education friends and families about the dangers of tobacco.
What is REBEL about?
It's about understanding the tobacco industry's tactics.
It's about learning how big tobacco affects our bodies and to health of the
people we love.
It's about making a difference in our state, in our counties, and in our
communities.
It's about education and motivation.
It's about enjoying a tobacco-free lifestyle.
It's about enjoying a healthy lifestyle.
It's about YOU and ONE person can make a difference.
What is New Jersey REBEL?
REBEL is a group of teens dedicated to educating peers, middle and
elementary school children, and other members of the community about the
dangers of tobacco.
Why do we need REBEL?
Each year, 19,700 New Jersey teens under 18 become daily smokers - that's 54
teens a day. Currently, 24.5% of New Jersey high school students use
tobacco. In their memos, one of the tobacco companies called
teens "replacement smokers." Replacements for the customers that die.
What can REBEL offer you?
Fun, opportunity, new friends, a chance to shine, leadership, community
service, recognition, empowerment and support.
What can you offer REBEL?
Time, talent, ideas, your presence and your voice (each person makes a
difference.) You are REBEL'S greatest resource.
