| Our current work centers around THE GIVER, a novel, along with finishing the
research paper.
27 SRC points are due for the 4th marking period. Since the students are
actively engaged in a research paper, there are no additional book reports
other than the ones in the research paper.
The research paper emphasizes the life, works, and times of a self-
selected author. Special emphasis should be given to the author's style and
influence or reaction to the societal climate and events during the author's
lifetime. The students have been given a list of assignment deadlines,
reference aids, and instruction as well as in-class opportunites to
research. However, much independent work continues to be required beyond the
classroom.
