How do we celebrate birthdays?`
Birthdays are special in 2nd grade! Your child may dress down on
the day
they are celebrating. If that is already a DDD, a gym day or on
a weekend,
just dress down the next day.You are invited to send in cupcakes,
juice, or
whatever ideas you have!
We didn't understand something.
Please email me at home, MrsCif@aol.com
I will be more than happy to explain anything. If it can't wait
for an
answer, call me at home, 697-0990. My cell number is on the front
page
banner if it's an emergency.
We couldn't finish our homework.
I know our lives are all very busy, but it is very important to
teach our
children how to prioritize. New or uncovered material is NEVER
sent home for
the parents to teach. Therefore, if your child does not
understand it, then
please ask what they were doing when the information was given.
If it is a
matter of time, please know that homework should never take more
than 30
minutes.
What is a Burger King Night and BK DDD??
Burger King in Buena supports Notre Dame by offering a special
night each
month where 15% of the sales are donated to the 8th grade class
as a
fundraiser. Each student or their family member must sign in to
qualify for
the DDD (usually the following Monday). Remember for all DDD the
dress code
must be followed.
On a DDD can I wear shorts, sandals, nail polish, etc?
Even during DDD our dress code rules! Therefore, if it is a hot
day and you
want to wear shorts, wear the uniform shorts with a special top.
All other
questions refer to our dress code on the back of the school
calendar.
If my child misses school, does he/she make up all the work they missed?
Yes & NO:) When a child is out from school due to strep throat,
chicken
pox,
stomach virus, etc they do not have to return missed homework. If
work is
sent home it will be for review only. We don't need those germs
sent back
into school! Tests can be made up when the student returns,
either orally or
written.
Can I come into school and help?
A big YES!
Anytime you would like to come into our classroom to read a book
or do a
craft, please let me know ahead of time! We love to have visitors!
